The annual business meeting of the National Equipment Finance Association (NEFA) was held this year on Friday, September 14, during NEFA’s Funding Symposium at the Renaissance Washington, DC DuPont Circle Hotel, in Washington, DC.  Officers and Directors for 2013 were elected during the business meeting.

Elected to lead NEFA on the Executive Committee for 2013 were: John Rosenlund, CLP, of Portfolio Financial Services, as President; Kyle Gilliam, CLP, of Arvest Equipment Finance, as Vice President; Tara Aasand, of Great American Insurance, as Secretary; and John Donohue, of Direct Capital Corporation, as Treasurer.  2012 NEFA President, Hugh Swandel, of the Alta Group, will continue to serve on the Executive Committee as Immediate Past President.

Elected as Directors for NEFA for 2013 were: Mike Coon, of TAB Bank; William Ford, Jr., of Ford Financial Services, Inc.; Brad Harmon, CLP, of First Star Capital; Terey Jennings, CLP, of Financial Pacific Leasing, LLC; Jesse Johnson, of LeaseTeam, Inc.; Jim Merrilees, CLP.; Tim Mathison, of P&L Capital Corp; David Normandin, CLP, of PacTrust Bank Equipment Finance; Bruce Smith, of Diversified Capital Credit Corporation; Gary Souverein, CLP, of Pawnee Leasing Corporation; and Diane Williams, of Bankers Leasing Company.

“We are fortunate to have such a capable and willing group of volunteers to guide the association through the coming year,” said Gerry Egan, Executive Director of NEFA. 

Chris Enbom, CLP, of Allegiant Partners, and Frank Peretore, of Peretore & Peretore were honored for their Board Service as they completed their terms this year.  Also honored for her successful efforts as Conference Chairperson, was Lori Dean, CLP, of Arvest Equipment Finance.

The 2012 Funding Symposium drew over 180 attendees from across the US and Canada including a record number of visitors and new attendees.  Guests included NAELB President Elect, Corey Bell; ELFA President and CEO, Woody Sutton; and Dennis Brown, VP Government Relations, ELFA.

Participants enjoyed educational sessions, leading-edge industry exhibits, social functions and a special presentation about our Citizen Soldiers from Major General William Wofford, Adjutant General of the Arkansas National Guard.  Many attendees brought family members with them and extended their stay to take in some of the sites Washington, DC has to offer.

The National Equipment Finance Association (NEFA) is a national association serving small to mid-sized independent equipment finance companies, lessors and brokers.  NEFA is a strong association offering enhanced educational programs and premium networking opportunities with broad geographic and industry segment diversity.  The mission of NEFA is to provide a forum for members to pursue personal and professional growth and promote ethical business practices through advocacy, networking and industry involvement.
