Commercial Vehicle Sales
|
Location: Lisle, IL
Summary Functions: Managing and conducting the sales of our repossessed inventory, identifying prospective buyers, marketing the equipment, negotiating pricing and closing the sales.
Reports to: Sr. Asset Manager
Role Overview:
This is a unique opportunity to take on a key position of responsibility in a nationally recognized and fast growing private equity backed finance company. Engs Commercial Finance Co. is the largest independent commercial finance transportation lender. We are looking for a motivated and experienced commercial vehicle sales expert who will drive top dollar sales of heavy vehicles that have been repossessed in order to maximize our recovery rates. The candidate will develop effective relationships with prospective buyers and negotiate strong sales prices in order to close a maximum amount of deals.
As a balance sheet lender, the candidate has the added (and very effective) tool of being able to finance some of these sales internally, allowing higher sales prices particularly for less marketable pieces.
An effective candidate must have specific industry knowledge of and experience with selling class 8 trucks and trailers and other heavy equipment.
Role Responsibilities (responsibilities include, but are not limited to):
- Develop long term relationships with potential buyers who may have the capacity to buy multiple units
- Closely support our external sales teams who are selling the same inventory
- Closely work with our underwriting teams to structure potential transactions in a way that both protects the company while still being acceptable to the buyers
- Manage all operational aspects of the sales (tracking, reporting, billing, documentation, etc.)
- Participate in price setting of collateral
Background/Education:
- College Degree Preferred
- Extensive knowledge of commercial vehicle sales and current market conditions
Desired Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong management skills
- Customer service (internal/external) focused
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
- Comfortable working in a fast paced team environment
- Must be a self-starter/motivated
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday, from roughly 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (additional time as needed).
