Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sold more than US$42 million of heavy equipment and trucks at an unreserved public auction in Houston, Texas on February 11-12, 2015. More than 3,800 lots were sold, including 190+ truck tractors, 60+ excavators, 30+ dozers, 50+ skid steers and more. More than 4,500 people registered to bid in person or online—a new Ritchie Bros. record for auctions in Texas. Bidders participated in person at the auction site, online in real time at rbauction.com and by proxy.

"We had a strong start to 2015 in Texas, attracting record numbers of equipment and truck buyers to our Houston auction," said Alan McVicker, Regional Sales Manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "As always, every item sold to the highest bidder on auction day. Bidding was competitive, and we sold equipment to buyers from across the States, into Canada and Latin America, and even as far away as the Middle East and Australia."

More than 4,500 people from almost 60 countries, including 49 U.S. states, registered to bid in the auction. Buyers from outside Texas purchased US$21+ million of equipment and trucks (approximately 52 percent of total gross auction proceeds). Online bidders purchased US$19+ million of equipment and trucks (approximately 47 percent of total gross auction proceeds).
