October 20, 2015, 07:10 AM

Advantage Funding announced the addition of Janet Cooksey to its growing truck- finance sales team reporting to Carol Dmytriw, National Sales Manager. Cooksey will serve as Regional Sales Manager, capitalizing on her transportation financial services experience in over-the-road (OTR), regional-haul and vocational trucks as well as trailer financing, in the company’s Mid-South Region.

“Janet will bring Advantage Funding’s value-added products and services to markets in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Kentucky,” said Don Coolbaugh, Chief Sales Officer. “Transportation firms across the U.S. depend on us for customized financing and highly personable service. Adding Janet to our team means that more firms will experience the difference that is Advantage Funding.”

Prior to her appointment with Advantage Funding, Cooksey served as Regional Sales Manager for Charlotte-based Commercial Credit Group, Inc., where she sold more than $20 million in truck financing. Before Commercial Credit, Cooksey served for 14 years as District Finance Manager for Volvo Financial Services and eight years as District Finance Manager for Mack Financial Services. She also handled Volvo Construction Equipment, averaging $110 million in total annual sales. Volvo Financial Services, based in Greensboro, N.C., provides captive financing for both Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks. Previously, Cooksey managed Credit and Collections for Phoenix-based Republic Services, Inc./Browning Industries.

“I have extensive experience in the over-the-road and regional-haul vocational truck and trailer segment,” said Cooksey. “I see opportunity to open a whole new industry for Advantage Funding and bring a new product nameplate to the transportation industry in the Mid-South. I think Advantage will be a major player in this market.”

Cooksey attended Chadwick University in Birmingham, Ala., where she studied economics.
