IronPlanet and Auctions America, which specializes in the sale of American Classics, European sports cars, Detroit muscle, hot rods and customs, announced an agreement to jointly market Auctions America’s annual Fort Lauderdale event. To be held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center on Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3, this annual auction is well-known as a showcase of automotive power and beauty for enthusiasts of all types.

“Over the past 13 years, collectors have come to recognize this event for its incredible quality and diversity of collectable cars, and we are pleased to present them to our registered users from around the world,” said Gregory J. Owens, IronPlanet chairman and CEO. “We are looking forward to leveraging our online marketplace technology and digital marketing expertise to further promote this collection. IronPlanet’s online preview and pre-bid capabilities present a new way for bidders to participate in this prestigious auction, and we are thrilled to partner with Auctions America this year to market this remarkable group of automobiles.”

IronPlanet is offering bidders the opportunity to preview the Fort Lauderdale sale inventory, place pre-bids prior to the auction and bid in real-time on www.ironplanet.com during the auction days.

Regarded as South Florida’s premier collector car auction, Auctions America’s Fort Lauderdale event doubles as one of the area’s leading classic car shows, and an impressive display of automotive history and design for automotive enthusiasts. The 2016 event follows the company’s most successful Fort Lauderdale performance to date in 2015, which generated $21.3 million in sales. This year’s sale is set to build on these solid results, lifting the gavel on more than 450 automobiles, from American classics to European sports cars.

“Every year we aim to top the quality and selection of our last Fort Lauderdale event,” said Donnie Gould, President, Auctions America. “This year we’ve done that again, and thanks to the added exposure to IronPlanet’s customers and global buyer base, we expect an increased turnout in both onsite and online participation. IronPlanet’s extensive reach across marketplaces, borders and bidders make them an ideal partner for this great event.”
