Lillie Joins Sterling National Bank’s Municipal & Non-Profit Banking Team

Sterling National Bank announced that it has named Donna Lillie, VP and Managing Director of Municipal Banking. In making the appointment, Vincent DeLucia, President of Community Development Banking cited Sterling National Bank’s continued focus on the growth of its municipal banking business, in particular on Long Island where the bank continues to expand as a top regional bank in the Greater New York Metro market. She will report to Harold Peterson, Senior Vice President and Senior Managing Director of Municipal Banking.

Lillie will be responsible for growing Sterling’s Municipal Banking activities on Long Island through the acquisition of new client relationships and the expansion of existing business. Sterling will continue to deepen its reach in the Greater New York City metropolitan region by leveraging the Municipal Banking Team’s deep expertise in delivering depository and treasury management solutions to municipalities and not-for-profit clients.

In her new role, Lillie will leverage her 33 years of experience in the financial services sector to profitably grow Sterling’s Municipal Banking business. Lille is an accomplished banking executive, with a proven track record in sales leadership and customer growth. She was most recently a first vice president for People’s United Bank, where she focused on growing deposit and lending relationships. Prior to her role with People’s United Bank, she served as vice president of retail banking at Bank of Smithtown. Throughout her career, she has held several leadership positions with additional banking organizations.

Lillie received her Masters of Business Administration from St John’s University, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Adelphi University.
