March 28, 2018, 06:25 AM

LeaseQ, the online marketplace for equipment financing, added former Ameriprise Financial Vice President of Investments Technology Jamshed Khan as its first chief technology officer. With more than 20 years of experience in financial services technology, Khan will lead LeaseQ’s development team and further expand the company’s marketplace platform to serve commercial equipment borrowers, vendors and lenders.

“We are on track to reach $100 million in funded volume in 2018, bringing never-before-seen automation to the equipment finance industry. Jamshed’s experience turning technology visions into reality in the financial services industry will help us scale our platform and take our users to the next level of automation and service,” said Vernon Tirey, co-founder and CEO of LeaseQ.

Prior to LeaseQ, Khan was head of solutions delivery and IT management practice of The Trieste Group, a financial services and technology firm providing high-end analytics, financial engineering and technology solutions. Before The Trieste Group, Khan was Vice President of Investments Technology at Ameriprise Financial (formerly American Express Financial Advisors). At Ameriprise, he provided leadership in developing and implementing technology for trading, portfolio management, quantitative services, risk management, CRM, data, application and infrastructure services for the asset management division of the company. Prior to joining American Express, he was Senior Vice President of Quantitative Investment Technology at Zurich Scudder/Deutsche Bank.

“LeaseQ’s platform is unlike anything else in the market, with automation and communication tools that make equipment financing fast and easy,” Khan said. “Today, the platform delivers instant quotes, and one-day – or even one-hour – funding is on the horizon. I’m excited to be part of this amazing opportunity to transform a complex industry with technology.”

Khan holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from University of Massachusetts at Boston and Master of Science degree in Nuclear Physics from University of Karachi, Pakistan.
