CLFP Foundation Announces Halladay as Honorary CLFP

October 31, 2018, 07:07 AM

The Certified Lease & Finance Professional (CLFP) Foundation Executive Director and Board of Directors announced Shawn Halladay was presented an Honorary CLFP designation at the ELFA Annual Convention in Phoenix. Halladay is only the second individual to be granted this designation.

"It truly is an unexpected surprise to receive this honor.  I am just grateful for the opportunity to work with fellow industry members who are committed to advancing their careers and strengthening the professionalism of our great industry," Halladay said.

Reid Raykovich, CLFP, Executive Director of the CLFP Foundation, said, “Shawn contacted me earlier this year and offered to teach at Academies and I thought that I had won the lottery; it is rare that people like to teach and have the knowledge to teach every section. He graciously donated so many hours of his time and shared his knowledge with ease, humor and professionalism.  He consistently receives top marks from students and the Foundation sees this as a very small token of our appreciation for all that he has done for the designation as well as the industry.”

Halladay is Managing Director, Professional Development, at the Alta Group. He is also Senior Managing Director of Amembal & Halladay, equipment lease training and consultancy firm.

He has decades of experience as a lessor, trainer, consultant and auditor. Based in Salt Lake City, UT, he has served lessors throughout North America, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe, providing training in all aspects of equipment leasing. His consulting expertise includes vendor finance, accounting and reporting best practices, competitive analysis, strategic planning, litigation support, and accounting and quantitative analysis.

He has authored or co-authored eight books on equipment leasing, including A Guide to Equipment Leasing, An Introduction to Leasing and The Handbook of Equipment Leasing.

The CLFP designation is the only certification for the Equipment Finance Industry. There are currently 619 active Certified Lease & Finance Professionals and Associates in the United States, Canada and Australia.
