Controller - Financial
Location: Costa Mesa, CA

You will help create a “best in class” accounting team for Regents Capital. If you are looking for positive career trajectory this is the role for you.

The Financial Controller will ensure quality control over Regent’s accounting data and financial reporting along with the development and compliance with budgets and cash forecasting within the company. The Controller also oversees General Ledger including reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts, accounts receivables recording and management, fixed asset recording and depreciation, accrual and payment of payroll, benefits, and other liabilities, 1099 and other tax reporting, and timely generation of monthly financials and successfully completing our annual independent audit.

The Financial Controller will work closely with our existing Transaction Controller to create sound accounting practices and procedures that ensures our financial data is accurate and our policies comply with all applicable standards and requirements.

Immediate Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Preparing and maintaining Financial Statements
  • Reconciling accounts in a timely manner
  • Developing and maintaining budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with banking facilities and loans
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity area
  • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Work with external Auditor to ensure compliance with all GAAP standards and Lease/Loan accounting conventions
The Best Candidate Will Meet the Following Standards:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Equipment Leasing Accounting Experience Preferred
  • CPA License Preferred
  • Proven accounting experience and account reconciliation ability
  • Competency in MS Office with significant Excel competency, experience with databases and working knowledge of accounting software
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated aptitude for numbers
  • Ability and willingness to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized
