Key Equipment Finance has named Doug Beebe as vice president, energy finance. In this role, Beebe will identify, develop, structure and close energy equipment finance/leasing transactions, initially focused on distributed photovoltaic (PV) solar opportunities
.
“Doug brings to this position more than 20 years of finance and management experience, as well as a strong personal interest in solar energy technology,” said David ten Kroode, senior vice president of energy vendor solutions at Key Equipment Finance. “The blend of Doug’s deep background in the equipment finance business and his dedication to understanding the complexities of the solar industry make him a great addition to our team, and I look forward to working with him to expand our financing offerings to more solar PV manufacturers, distributors and project integrators across the United States.”

Prior to joining Key Equipment Finance, Beebe worked for more than two years at Deutsche Leasing USA, a U.S. subsidiary of a German equipment leasing company. While growing Deutsche Leasing USA’s traditional equipment finance business in the U.S., Beebe also developed a solar finance business for the company. Before that, Beebe spent six years at CitiCapital Construction Equipment Finance, where he held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in field sales, management and vendor finance program management. In 2008, GE Capital acquired CitiCapital, where he helped manage the transition of the construction equipment finance business for GE Capital. Prior to his tenure at CitiCapital, he spent 12 years at General Electric in three different GE businesses: GE Electrical Distribution and Control, GE Plastics, and GE Capital.  His roles at GE included direct sales, distribution sales, national account management and operations.

In addition to his professional work, Beebe serves on the board of directors of the Georgia Solar Energy Association. In 2011, he led the organization as the Chairman of the Georgia Solar Energy Association.  He continues to be active in the local solar industry. Beebe also is NABCEP Entry Level Certified in Solar Photovoltaic.

Beebe has a bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
