LFC Capital, Inc. has added two senior financial advisors to its emerging growth finance practice in the life sciences and healthcare. Jonathan Walker is an executive with broad financing and investment experience, having worked for more than three decades in investment banking and private equity. Lisa Mienville, Ph.D., combines the scientific training of a research chemist with extensive investment, business development, and legal expertise in the life sciences.

“We regard emerging growth finance as an opportunity to add value with intelligently structured finance, and we are very pleased to expand our capabilities with the addition of two such knowledgeable professionals,” said Martin E. Zimmerman, president and CEO of LFC Capital. The firm provides customized debt solutions, including lease finance and term debt, to institutionally backed, private companies engaged in healthcare, information technology, and other select markets.

Mr. Walker spent most of his career with the London-based merchant bank, Kleinwort Benson Limited, specializing in corporate finance and banking services. He was transferred to the U.S. in 1978, where he managed Kleinwort Benson’s Chicago and Los Angeles offices. In 1995, he moved to New York to develop and manage the bank’s U.S. private equity and third-party fund portfolios. In 1998, he founded and served as a board member of European Venture Partners, Ltd., which provided venture leasing and lending to select growth companies. He has also served on the boards of numerous private and public companies and on the advisory boards of several private equity funds.

Dr. Mienville is a barrister and solicitor specializing in intellectual property litigation and holds an MBA in International Finance. She began her career as a research chemist for University Hospitals of Cleveland. Later, as manager of
Technology Transfer for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, she was responsible for investment analysis and licensing opportunities for early-stage companies in the diagnostic, biotechnology, and biomedical engineering sectors. She was manager of business development, involved in acquisitions to create and grow the cardiovascular division, at Abbott Laboratories. She then entered private equity as a director of Dresdner Kleinwort Capital in New York and a partner in the Healthcare Fund.

LFC Capital, Inc., based in Chicago, provides equipment leasing and term-debt financing to healthcare providers and select growth companies nationwide. The principals of LFC have completed more than $1.5 billion in equipment leasing and financing transactions.
