Key Equipment Finance named Luis A. Gutierrez as vice president, energy finance. In this role, Gutierrez will identify, develop, structure and close energy equipment finance/leasing transactions, initially focused on distributed photovoltaic (PV) solar opportunities.

“Luis has more than 20 years of experience with a broad range of financial and strategic engagements, particularly in the renewable energy sector,” said David ten Kroode, senior vice president of energy vendor solutions at Key Equipment Finance. “He has proven skills in the many facets of structuring transactions, and I look forward to working with him to provide more financing opportunities to solar PV manufacturers, distributors and project integrators across the United States.”

Prior to Key Equipment Finance, Gutierrez was senior vice president of structured finance for Energy Conversion Devices Inc.; director of project finance at Naturener USA LLC; vice president of investment banking at Silver Pacific Advisors LLC; and director at XRoads Solutions Group. He also held a variety of management and finance positions with Accenture, Chase Securities and Florida Power & Light.

Gutierrez has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA in finance from Harvard Business School.
