ELFA is mourning the loss of long-time member, industry leader and ELFA Director Jim McGrane, who passed away on March 13. EverBank has provided the following statement:

It is with heavy hearts that we tell you that our friend and colleague, Jim McGrane, passed away March 13 after a brief illness.  His family was by his side.

Jim was a pioneer and leader in our industry for more than 30 years, and was a long-time member of the ELFA board.  Jim most recently was the head of EverBank’s Commercial Division, leading the management of the company’s combined commercial finance, commercial real estate and business banking operations.

Throughout his long and storied career, Jim touched the lives and careers of many professionals in our industry.   He was a co-founder of USXL and Tygris Vendor Finance, and held leadership roles with US Leasing, AT&T Capital and Heller Financial and also created two successful management consulting practices.

Jim made an immeasurable contribution to the success of ELFA and its members.  He served as a member of the ELFA’s board of directors and executive committee, and previously served as chairman of the Small Ticket Business Council.

We ask that you please keep his wife, Maryann, his children, Samantha and Geoffrey, and his parents in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

Information regarding services will be available at http://williamjleberfh.com/home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation http://www.amyloidosis.org/

Publisher's Note: We are shocked and saddened to hear of Jim’s passing and we extend our most heartfelt sympathies to Jim's family and the EverBank family. The industry has lost a champion and a leader. We at Equipment Finance Advisor feel we have lost a great friend.
