Great Place to Work and Fortune have honored First American Equipment Finance, at No. 22, on the 2020 Best Small & Medium Workplaces list for the fifth consecutive year. The ranking is based on confidential survey feedback representing more than 189,000 employees working at businesses with fewer than 1,000 full-time employees throughout the United States.

To determine the Best Small & Medium Workplaces, consulting firm Great Place to Work evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experiences on the job. This included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions and how much camaraderie there is among the team.

“I’m proud of my colleagues for the exceptional culture they continue to build, despite operating in a work-from-home environment” said Alan Sikora, CEO of First American. “This year has required us all to pivot, to new ways of working, creative approaches to serving clients and new initiatives to support our community. The resilience, strength and positive spirit of my colleagues is remarkable.”

Over the past five years, First American’s new business volume has grown substantially, from $414.2 million in 2015 to $1.372 billion in 2019. During this time, the company created nearly 125 new positions at its Rochester, NY, area headquarters. First American’s vision is to be the Best Company to Work For and the Best Company to Work With.

“Best Workplaces like First American have built dynamic, flexible and transparent workplaces founded on trust,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “This gives companies on this list a powerful opportunity not just to do well for their people, but also to do well for their businesses.”
