DLL announced CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Rick Trobman, President of the Tech Solutions Global Business Unit at DLL, as one of the IT channel’s 100 People You Don’t Know But Should for 2021. Every year, this list honors the people working tirelessly behind the scenes to support not only their partners, but the broader channel ecosystem, as well.

The CRN editorial team compiles the list each year to bring well-deserved attention to the best and brightest who may not be as visible or well-known as some channel executives, but whose roles are just as important. The selections are based on feedback from leading solution providers and industry executives.

For the last 25 years, Trobman has been helping OEMs and the channel to finance technology sales. His entry into the channel started with financing laptops for enterprise sales force effectiveness projects, and today his team provides branded and white-label financing and leasing solutions for many of the largest OEMs like Cisco and Apple, as well as thousands of channel partners in more than 30 countries. Trobman is driving DLL’s leadership position in delivering XaaS and consumption-based technology payment solutions.

“I am incredibly appreciative and humbled to have been chosen for this esteemed list,” said Trobman. “We’re proud to provide tailored payment solutions for tech manufacturers, distributors and solution providers, along with their commercial and government customers, and it is a true honor to have this work recognized among the channel. It would not be possible without the amazing team of commercial members I work alongside every day and the focus and dedication of DLL on customer experience.”

“There are truly talented folks who make game-changing, creative, and strategic decisions every day behind the scenes,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “With the 100 People You Don’t Know But Should, we are excited to shine a light on this exceptional group and honor them for their remarkably important work on behalf of their partners and their contributions to the IT channel at large.”

The 100 People You Don’t Know But Should will be featured in the October issue of CRN Magazine and can be found online.
