Patricia M. Voorhees, a director with The Alta Group, is moderating a panel June 13 at the Commercial Equipment Market Council (CEMC) Innovation Summit in Laguna Beach, Calif., on digitization in asset finance. The panelists will discuss how innovation is driving process efficiency and enabling access to credit for businesses to finance the acquisition of equipment critical to their growth and expansion.

The “Digitalization of Asset Finance & Purchase” panel also includes Bill Phelan, CEO of PayNet, Anu Sachdeva, senior vice president and client partner at GenPact,  Lendit’s Chairman and Co-Founder Peter Renton and Matthew Perkins, senior managing director at Guggenheim Securities.  They will provide an update on Fintech trends in asset-based lending, discuss ways integrated process digitization and big data use in underwriting is changing financial institutions’ processes and provide a capital markets perspective.

Other sessions will include “Man and Machine Learning/AI” (artificial intelligence) featuring Christine Robson, PhD., head of machine learning at Google, and “The New Age of Blockchain” with Christina Dolan, founding partner of insideCHAINS, and speakers from Cisco. “Experts from across technology and finance will converge at the summit, said CEMC’s Founder and CEO of Currency Capital, Charles Anderson. “We founded the CEMC to provide an industry think tank of the best from all the various sectors of Fintech to accelerate the innovation and digitalization of asset finance and purchase.”

Keynote speakers include OnDeck Capital Founder Mitch Jacobs, Peter Guber, CEO of Mandalay Entertainment and co-owner of the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Jeff Hayzlett, a business speaker on innovation and disruption.

Summit participants include capital providers, online asset sellers, equipment leasing and finance industry leaders, technology disruptors, data leaders and practitioners who are inspiring new innovative practices, according to the event brochure available at cemcouncil.

The Alta Group is a silver sponsor of this event and one of the founders of the CEMC along with Charles Anderson, CEO of Currency. Voorhees has spoken at several CEMC events. Her presentations and background on Fintech relevant to the equipment leasing and finance industry are available at Fintech Services.

John C. Deane, Alta’s CEO, and Valerie L. Gerard, managing director of the consultancy’s Management Consulting Practice, will be attending the CEMC Innovation Summit as well.
