Position Responsibilities

The Vice President of Credit reports directly to the SVP Equipment Finance and is responsible for leading the underwriting function core to Channel Partners Capital’s (“CPC’s”) business. The position is accountable for the performance and results of the underwriting team, providing strategic leadership, vision, and day to day oversight to the function. Responsible for leadership and professional development of the Underwriting Team, that includes growing a profitable portfolio.

Key Tasks
  • Works closely with the SVP Equipment Finance to provides strategic leadership and vision for the establishment of CPC Equipment Finance Group.
  • Participates with CPC’s Leadership Team in the evaluation, development, and implementation of organizational strategy.
  • Responsible for building a team and leading with a focus on critical thinking, staff development, and driving performance and results. Leads and motivates team to execute with excellence.
  • Effectively coordinates resources across teams and actively pursues opportunities to create efficiencies.
  • Identifies and implements underwriting strategies which make Channel Partners Capital a recognized, differentiated leader in the equipment finance space.
  • Works with the Leadership Team to identify and set meaningful key performance indicators to ensure business success and establishes accountability across the underwriting team. Ensures that portfolio performance meets the requirements of established business models and financial targets.
  • Keeps abreast of industry and competitor trends. Continuously builds and evolves the underwriting function.
  • Provides oversight, audit, and independent challenge to ensure underwriting and risk management practices balance with company risk tolerance and meet organizational and regulatory objectives.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance within the underwriting function for CP Equipment Finance.

  • Expert working knowledge of underwriting third-party originated products.
Education and Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in credit and small business equipment finance underwriting, 7 of which must be in a leadership role and ideally in the equipment finance industry.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant financial field or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert level understanding of credit and underwriting operations, including knowledge of scoring models.
  • Experience in or understanding of equipment lease financing business model in small-ticket business segment desirable.
