The American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB) announced Vincent Borges as the winner of its newly developed scholarship.

In October of 2020, the AACFB announced the new scholarship program open to high school seniors and students attending a trade or technical school in addition to those attending a two- or four-year institution of higher learning. Borges, a high school senior in Norwalk, CT, will be the first recipient of the new scholarship and will receive an award of $500.

Borges stated, “This scholarship is a great opportunity to help me get closer to being able to afford college and help take some of the weight off me and my parents in our joint effort to help me with college. This scholarship will help me on my way to achieving everything that I want during and after college.”

Borges was recommended by Don Cosenza and Paul Cheslock, with North Mill Equipment Finance where Borges started as an intern in 2020. Cheslock shared that Borges is, “the youngest and one of the most responsible and valued members of our team. He has become someone that we can rely on to handle various tasks and projects efficiently and effectively.”

“The Scholarship Taskforce was impressed with Vincent as a hard-working young man, both in his studies and in his role at North Mill Equipment Finance,” added AACFB President Cindy Downs. “We are excited to be able to assist him in achieving his goal of a college degree. We wish him a bright future.”

The AACFB hopes to grow the scholarship fund and increase the award amounts in the future. Donations to the scholarship fund may be made here. More information is available at https://aacfb.org/scholarship. Questions about the program may be sent to info@aacfb.org.
