Truist Financial Corp. announced that it has hired a new Tampa market president and appointed a longtime Orlando-based leader to a national sales role in Commercial Banking.
Seasoned banker Ryan Booher joins Truist as market president for the Tampa Bay region and Steve Fisher has been named commercial sales leader to help accelerate growth across Truist’s footprint.
Fisher, who has 24 years of financial services experience, has driven performance and profitability across Florida in senior leadership positions at Truist over the past five years. He will remain based in Orlando and lead strategy and execution with commercial banking teams across all markets.
“One of our objectives is recruiting and retaining top talent and that’s what this announcement is all about,” said Head of Commercial Banking Jodie Hughes. “We’re excited to build upon Steve’s role so that he can share his strengths with our broader team and welcome Ryan to Truist to lead a key market.”
Booher has over two decades of experience serving corporate, middle market and government clients for large and mid-sized financial institutions. He is known for his expertise in complex debt structures and treasury management solutions.
In his role as market president, Booher will focus on deepening and expanding Truist’s relationships with clients in the region, fostering new ones and elevating the company’s profile as a trusted financial partner.
Booher is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and active with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.
His announcement bolsters the commercial banking team in Florida, where Scott Cathcart was recently named regional president.
“Ryan is a purpose-driven leader and we’re excited he has joined the team,” Cathcart said. “He knows the Tampa market well and will help us deliver on our local banker approach combined with national industry expertise.”
