Beacon Bank has expanded commercial banking into the Mohawk Valley in New York by hiring two new seasoned professionals hires and added a Business Banking Team Leader in the Capital Region to support ongoing economic expansion in the regions.
These bankers — Lynn Smith, Alicia Brockway, and David Wood — are well-known locally and bring with them deep expertise and knowledge of their local areas. They are focused on delivering exceptional, personalized support for businesses in the regions and strengthening the bank’s ability to capitalize on local commercial lending opportunities.

Brockway, Senior Business Banker and town of Frankfort resident, has more than 35 years of experience in commercial banking. Previously, Brockway served as business banking regional manager at NBT Bank. In her role at Beacon Bank, she serves as a relationship manager responsible for delivering tailored financing solutions to smaller and mid-sized businesses, emphasizing transparency, accountability and alignment across all business lines and products that deliver customized business solutions. Brockway is deeply rooted in the Mohawk Valley and is an active leader in her community. She currently serves as board chair of Arc Herkimer, is a board and executive committee member of the Herkimer College Foundation and served as board president of Cedar Lake Golf & Country Club.
Wood, senior commercial banking portfolio manager and a Utica resident, has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, portfolio management and client relationship support. Previously, Wood held senior leadership roles managing commercial banking and business banking teams at KeyBank. In his role at Beacon Bank, he partners closely with relationship managers to support underwriting, portfolio monitoring and delivering excellence in ongoing servicing for commercial banking clients. Wood is actively involved in his communities, including service as co-director of the Utica Saint Patrick’s Day Parade where he supports one of the region’s largest annual events.
Smith, Business Banking Team Leader and Niskayuna resident, has more than 25 years of experience in commercial banking, including leadership roles in business banking, middle market commercial banking, commercial real estate, and managed assets. Previously, Smith served as chief credit officer at National Bank of Coxsackie. In her role at Beacon Bank, she is responsible for delivering tailored financing solutions to smaller and mid-sized businesses, as well as overseeing portfolio strategy and credit quality, and partnering closely with clients to support their growth goals.
In all, 16 of Beacon Bank’s 148 branches are in the Mohawk Valley and Capital Region, including in Utica, Rome (2), New Hartford (2), Whitesboro, West Winfield and Ilion, Albany (2), Delmar, Latham, North Greenbush, New Lebanon, Queensbury and Amsterdam.
