Civic Credit Union has announced the promotion of Lawrence Jenkins to Chief Financial Officer. Jenkins is a seasoned financial leader committed to strong stewardship and members’ financial well-being. He began his career in the credit union industry in 2011 as an accountant at Local Government Federal Credit Union.  

Jenkins graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in 1999 and with a Master of Business Administration from NCCU in 2014. Leadership training opportunities at the credit union helped him to grow in his career and become a senior leader at Civic Credit Union. 

As CFO, Jenkins will provide strategic leadership for financial operations and work alongside leaders throughout the organization to support sustainable growth, sound decision-making and long-term value for members.

When asked about what he’s excited to achieve in his new role as CFO, Jenkins says he’s looking forward to “partnering with the leadership team and continuing to create value and opportunities for our members.”  

His advice to someone at the beginning of their career? “Stay curious, ask questions and build relationships across your organization and within your industry.”   

Jenkins lives in Wake Forest, NC, with his family and is a member of the NC Association of CPAs, as well as a board member of The Bull City Woodshop, a non-profit organization that provides skill-building and fosters creativity for youth.
