SCU Credit Union announced the promotion of Kevin Brower to Chief Lending Officer. Brower joined SCU two years ago as Chief Commercial & Consumer Officer and brings over 27 years of banking experience to his new role, nearly all of it spent serving Southeastern Massachusetts. In his new position, Brower will bring together SCU's consumer and commercial lending departments into a single, unified team focused on one goal: supporting members at every stage of their financial lives.
"Whether it’s a member buying their first home, opening their first credit card, or a small business owner looking to expand, our job is to walk alongside them at every step," said Brower. "There is nothing more rewarding than helping our neighbors and local businesses grow. Bringing our lending and servicing teams together lets us do that better, as one team, with one focus: our members."
Glenn Parsons, President & CEO of SCU Credit Union, highlighted the significance of Brower’s promotion. “Kevin has helped drive real, meaningful growth for the businesses and members we serve, and that growth doesn’t happen without a strong, connected team behind it. As our local businesses continue to grow, we’re proud to be part of that success. Bringing lending and servicing together under Kevin’s leadership means our members will experience one team, working toward one goal: supporting them.”
As Chief Lending Officer, Brower will oversee SCU’s full lending portfolio — from small business and commercial lending to the consumer products that guide members through every stage of life, including financing a first home, opening a first credit card, securing a personal loan, or tapping into a home equity loan, among other options. Brower’s team will also continue to expand SCU’s education efforts for members and the broader community, including small business education and home ownership courses designed to help residents build long-term financial confidence.
A Brockton native, Brower has built his career around the communities he grew up in. He serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South and remains heavily invested in Brockton's ongoing redevelopment, continuing a career-long commitment to the community that shaped him.
Brower’s promotion reflects SCU Credit Union’s investment in local members and local businesses, and to a lending experience built around one team working toward the same goal.
