Sims Crane & Equipment Names MacGillivary Chief Financial Officer

Sims Crane & Equipment Co. announced Katie MacGillivary as its new chief financial officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026.

MacGillivary brings 25 years of financial leadership experience to Sims Crane, with a proven track record of transforming financial operations and helping companies navigate significant growth, acquisitions and strategic transactions. Throughout her career, she has led numerous acquisitions, multiple exit processes and an initial public offering across industries including transportation, financing, logistics and energy.

“Katie brings an exceptional combination of financial expertise, strategic leadership and experience guiding organizations through periods of significant growth,” said Deborah Weber, chief executive officer and president of Sims Crane & Equipment. “As Sims continues to grow and expand our operations, having the right leadership in place is critical. Katie understands how to build strong financial organizations while keeping people, performance and long-term success at the center of the business. MacGillivary joins Sims Crane from Channel Partners, where she served as chief financial officer since 2019, leading the company’s finance, accounting, payroll, tax, human resources and legal functions.

Previously, MacGillivary served as chief financial officer of Nicholas Financial, where she oversaw SEC reporting, investor relations and capital markets activity. She also held finance leadership roles at TECO Energy and began her career at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen.

MacGillivary is a 2026 Tampa Titan 100 honoree and was previously recognized as CFO of the Year in 2022.

A certified public accountant, MacGillivary holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Florida. She is also a member of the Young Men’s Service League.
