United Heritage Credit Union (UHCU) announced the promotion of Brittany Johnson to Vice President of Organizational Development, leading a new department focused on employee growth and development. In her role, Johnson will lead initiatives to build employee skills, create continuous learning and career development pathways, strengthen the employee experience and embed UHCU’s Hospitality Values into everyday work.
“Investing in our employees is an investment in the future of UHCU,” said Samantha Hess, Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer at UHCU. “Establishing the Organizational Development department allows us to take a more intentional, organization-wide approach to helping our team members grow, develop their skills, and build meaningful careers. Brittany’s experience and commitment to our people make her the right leader to advance this work and strengthen the culture that sets UHCU apart."
Johnson joined UHCU in October 2017 as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and has since advanced through several leadership roles, including Assistant Vice President of Talent Management, and Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Texas A&M University and previously spent nearly six years with Wells Fargo, progressing from teller to management.
During her tenure at UHCU, Johnson has helped expand employee and leadership development, strengthen recruitment practices, and advance initiatives that support a hospitality-focused culture, including the in-house Manager Essentials leadership program and introducing the Credit Union’s new Hospitality Values. She has partnered with leaders across the organization to align employee development with strategic priorities and strengthen the employee experience.
“I’m excited to build on the work we’ve already accomplished and create even more opportunities for our employees to learn, grow, and advance their careers,” said Johnson. “Organizational Development is about helping our team members feel supported at every stage of their journey with UHCU; while ensuring they have the skills and resources to succeed. By connecting employee development with our Hospitality Values, we can continue building a culture where our people feel empowered to do their best work and deliver exceptional experiences for our members.”
