GovPlanet, IronPlanet’s online marketplace for used government surplus, is auctioning three High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), or Humvees, with the proceeds going to benefit the Fisher House Foundation.

Already one of the industry’s most anticipated events of 2016, IronPlanet’s Cat Auction Services annual Florida auction will be the largest in its history. The Humvees will be auctioned one on each day from Tuesday February 9 through Thursday February 11, at approximately noon ET. The Humvees are available online to preview now and also on site:

  • Tuesday, Feb 9: 1985 AM General Humvee HMMWV (item #685587)

GovPlanet will donate its portion of the proceeds from the sale of the three featured Humvees to Fisher House Foundation, a charity that primarily supports a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other military charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses and children of fallen and disabled veterans.

“The Humvees continue to draw huge interest to GovPlanet, and we are excited to support such a terrific organization by raising money for the more than 25,000 service men and women this organization serves annually,” said Jeffrey L. Holmes, senior vice president, government solutions and auction management at IronPlanet. “It’s a privilege to help Fisher House Foundation keep families together as soldiers heal and to support the Foundation’s scholarship and educational programs.”

"We are grateful that GovPlanet has chosen to help Fisher House Foundation support military and Veteran families," said David Coker, president of Fisher House Foundation. "The funds raised will provide much needed support to families of service men and women. We are so appreciative to be part of IronPlanet's Florida auction event this year."

Interested buyers can register at www.govplanet.com or www.ironplanet.com. Each Humvee is covered by IronPlanet’s IronClad Assurance® equipment condition certification, which gives buyers the confidence to buy online knowing that the condition of the equipment is as reported.
