BigRentz Sees Big Change With Touchless Bookings Process

BigRentz, the nation’s largest equipment rental network, marked a significant increase in customer demand for automated, touchless rentals with 30 percent of all bookings completed entirely online.

The company attributes this change to pent-up demand for easy to use, automated interface tools that equipment rental customers expect in other areas of their lives. This behavior change coupled with BigRentz’s automated crowdsourcing technology and nationwide supplier base is expected to increase touchless bookings to over 50 percent by the end of 2018.

“We are delighted to see 30 percent of bookings are now made directly through our website – it illustrates that people expect the same automated, touchless rentals process as their consumer-related rentals such as the car rental,” said Scott Canon, CEO of BigRentz. “We believe this trend will continue to grow, especially when you consider car rentals 15 years ago where almost all made via telephone, and now are done online. It makes total business sense for big equipment rentals to follow that path.”

Customer service remains a high priority and several new features will be added to the BigRentz rental experience including the ability to reserve equipment for multiple locations, online chat and a Spanish version of the website.
