Stonebriar Commercial Finance Announces Promotions

Stonebriar Commercial Finance announced the promotions of three key members of its staff.

Dirk N. Stock was promoted to Vice President, Portfolio. Stock joined Stonebriar at inception as a Senior Investment Manager, with over 30 years of experience beginning over 25 years ago alongside several of Stonebriar’s senior executives, underwriting complex large-ticket equipment transactions. In addition to his current underwriting responsibilities, he will oversee the maintenance of the company’s portfolio files and provide a centralized interface for the administration of all portfolio and securitization initiatives. Stock earned a BBA from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the University of Texas.

Stonebriar’s Chief Risk Officer, Jeff Wilkison, said, “Dirk has been a trusted and reliable member of our team spanning several decades. His deep industry knowledge and experience gives him a unique perspective and enables him to be a strong mentor to the younger members of our credit staff.”

Harrison P. Smith was promoted to Investment Manager. Stonebriar hired Smith in 2015 as a junior Credit Analyst in support of the ELFA’s Emerging Talent initiative. Smith has effectively underwritten progressively complex transactions and made significant contributions in every project assigned to him, all of which have been key in Stonebriar’s overall success. Smith earned a degree in International Business from Rollins College and is currently pursuing an MBA at Southern Methodist University. Additionally, he passed Level I in the pursuit his CFA certification.

“Harrison’s knowledge and underwriting expertise have progressed quickly due to his strong work ethic, desire to excel and exemplary ability to analyze and present the relevant information,” Wilkison said.

Ryan Ellis was promoted to Director. He will assume management responsibilities for business development and oversight of daily operations of the Real Estate Group.

Curtis Valenzuela, Executive Vice President of the Real Estate Group, stated, “Ryan joined our team in 2013 taking on roles of progressively greater responsibility. It is always rewarding to see our team members develop.”

Dave B. Fate, Stonebriar CEO stated: “We are pleased to recognize and empower these talented professionals whose contributions will be integral to Stonebriar’s continued success. Dirk adds a seasoned level of oversight insuring our portfolio records are well-maintained and available when needed by securitization trustees and custodians. Harrison will excel in our organization as he continues to build out his skill set and assume more responsibilities. Ryan’s contributions in his expanded role will enable the Real Estate Group to continue its exciting growth.”
