Senior Portfolio Analyst
Location: Fort Collins, CO

Position Reports to: Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics

Full-Time Employee/Exempt/Salaried

Purpose: Monitor performance of Company’s equipment lease/loan portfolio; paying particular attention to the non-delinquent segments of the portfolio. Determine areas of weakness and/or strength in the portfolio and recommend corrective and/or proactive action to address said areas. Work with VP-Credit and other members of the management team to ensure portfolio guidelines and model criteria are being followed and implemented; and that portfolio monitoring incorporates analysis that can lead to actionable recommendations for senior management.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate on an on-going basis the entire lease/loan portfolio; with primary emphasis on the majority of the portfolio that is not delinquent.
  • Play an integral part in the Portfolio Management Feedback Loop.
  • Identify, analyze, and provide recommendations on any developing areas of portfolio weakness/strength, concentrations, etc. with the ultimate goal of improving Company profitability.
  • Responsible for coordinating external rating and macroeconomic data into portfolio management process.
  • Monitor portfolio risk ratings, as well as periodically rescore portfolio to track risk rating migrations.
  • Responsible for measuring actual versus expected profitability of all programs based on segmented risk, and alerting management when variances emerge.
  • Maintain contact with other industry portfolio managers to keep abreast of best practices.
  • Work with VP-Credit to ensure portfolio guidelines are being observed as new volume is generated.
  • Work with Scorecard Analyst to assist in maintaining and updating Company credit scoring models as well as implementation of risk based pricing for lease/loan product line.
  • Assist in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other portfolio health measures to provide visibility to key Company stakeholders.
  • Work independently and reliably on a wide range of assigned projects demonstrating a high level of ownership.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Math, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Social Science, or related discipline.
  • Knowledgeable with respect to portfolio management.
  • Experience in the use of models in discriminating credit risk and assigning risk ratings.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis utilizing Excel.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years financial services, banking, or leasing industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to review and summarize large amounts of data.
  • Strong relationship building and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Firm understanding of technology, including demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in a Windows operating environment.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, including appropriate group presentation skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) information efficiently and succinctly.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous tasks independently with a high level of detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact successfully and work collaboratively with all levels of personnel including Management, Business Advisors and Suppliers.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment essential.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Commitment to performing high-level quality work.
  • Strong trouble-shooting/problem resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal/internal customer service skills.
