TIP Capital, a leading equipment financing and asset management company in Michigan, has upgraded its IT platform by deploying a private cloud hosted at The Markley Group's flagship datacenter located in Boston, Massachusetts.

“TIP Capital has deployed a best-in-class private cloud environment to provide our customers and partners with a flexible, scalable and highly available platform,” said Jeffrey Emrich, Chief Information Officer at TIP Capital. “With
vSphere, we have consolidated our physical devices, significantly increased performance and availability while reducing our power consumption.”

“Our partners and customers have placed their trust with us. We have taken significant steps to ensure we protect that trust though the deployment of our private cloud at The Markley Group.”

This investment also reinforces our commitment to our vendors and customers – and our ability to provide superior customer service, he said. TIP Capital’s proprietary asset management portal (assetCONNECT®) and marketing web sites (partnerCONNECT®) also will reside within this environment.

“We chose to locate our private cloud with Markley because of their availability track record, outstanding customer service and attention to detail,” he said. “The Markley Group facility provides an ‘always on’ reliability for TIP Capital – combined with our private cloud network, we now have a significant advantage over our competition.”

Commonly referred to by its address, One Summer Street, the Markley co-location center boasts a 100% uptime record amid a carrier-neutral facility with access to more than 50 independent telephone carriers and eight utility feeds from two substations for uninterrupted, reliable power and service. During the recent damage caused by Hurricane Sandy this year, the datacenter never lost utility power and had no significant issues reported despite its location within the storm’s path.

Markley also has been the choice for critical data housing for leading corporations and institutions including the Boston Red Sox, Harvard Medical School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The New York Times.
