NationaLease, one of the largest full-service truck leasing organizations in North America, hosted its Canadian Leadership Summit at the Westin Chicago River North in Chicago. This annual gathering is designed to help the organization’s Canadian members network with their peer group, NationaLease staff and suppliers, and learn about the latest issues facing the leasing industry in Canada as well as current happenings in the North American market.

At the Awards Dinner, three members were presented with NationaLease’s 2019 Canadian Most Valuable Performance Award which recognizes those Canadian members who have had outstanding performance in areas of business growth, member participation and purchasing within the NationaLease system. Winners included:

  • Alliance Leasing, Ltd, a NationaLease Member/Prince George, BC
  • Nova Truck NationaLease/Dartmouth, NS
  • VEL NationaLease/Hartland, NB

The 2019 Canadian Supplier of the Year Award was presented to Daimler Trucks North America.

The two-day Summit included top-tiered sessions on regulatory changes, new technologies, best purchasing practices and Canadian-specific leasing and operations topics. There was also a Supplier Roundtable discussion and a Trade and Technology Fair that featured a lively “speed networking” format.

The meeting opened with a presentation by Tom Walter, Chief Culture Officer of Tasty Catering, on how to build a high-integrity, high-performing culture that drives short and long-term financial growth.

Eric Maddox, Intelligence Officer/Interrogator with the US Army and D.I.A., shared his experiences as a rookie interrogator assigned to a Delta Force team in Tikrit to explain the importance of listening and breaking down the essential elements of information elicitation.

Robin Kinsey, HOS/ELD Training Specialist with Geotab offered members guidance on how to prepare for the implementation of the Canadian ELD mandate for drivers and fleets.

Dee Reinhardt, Social Media Strategist from Time2Mrkt, Inc., covered social media basics and highlighted the best social platforms for businesses.

NationaLease’s 2020 Canadian Leadership Summit will take place Nov. 2-4 at the Loews Hôtel Vogue in Montreal, Canada.

Founded in 1944, NationaLease has over 900 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada and a combined customer fleet of over 165,000 tractors, trucks, and trailers.
