GE Appoints New Chief Regulatory Officer for GE Capital

GE announced Michael F. Silva has been appointed vice president, chief regulatory officer & compliance leader, GE Capital. He starts on December 2 and will report operationally to GE Capital Chairman & CEO Keith Sherin and functionally to GE's General Counsel Brackett Denniston.

Silva joins GE from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Most recently, he served in the role of senior supervisory officer. He previously served as chief of staff to former Secretary of Treasury Tim Geithner during his time as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He also served in the Navy as an F14A Naval Flight Officer and completed “Top Gun” training.

Silva earned a bachelor of science degree from the United States Naval Academy, a juris doctor degree from the Columbia School of Law and completed the Advanced Management program at Harvard Business School.  Silva will be based in Norwalk, CT.
