December 09, 2020, 07:10 AM

Wells Fargo & Company announced the appointment of Eric Yoss as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), reporting to enterprise CRO Mandy Norton. Yoss will join the company on Feb. 1. His appointment completes the leadership team for the company’s enhanced Risk model, which was announced this year and includes five business group CROs and other teams aligned by risk type designed to further strengthen the independent oversight of all risk-taking activities across the company.

“Eric joining our Risk leadership team builds upon the progress made in recent months to execute the vision for strengthening our centralized, independent risk management program,” said Norton. “This leadership team is well-positioned to provide greater consistency in how we manage risk across our businesses and improve how we manage risk for the future.”

As CRO for CIB, Yoss will provide independent, holistic risk leadership and oversight for CIB, creating streamlined interaction with independent risk management and a comprehensive view of risks in the business. CIB provides corporate and transactional banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, investment banking, equity and fixed-income solutions to clients across the globe.

Yoss joins Wells Fargo from Mizuho Financial Group, where he served as Chief Risk Officer for the Americas, overseeing their independent risk management division across the region. Yoss has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and previously held several risk leadership roles at Barclays, Deutsche Bank, and JPMorgan Chase. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the University of Virginia.
