February 02, 2021, 07:00 AM

BigRentz, the nation’s largest equipment rental network, announced Tom Belmont has been appointed Chief Operating Officer reporting to Scott Cannon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Belmont brings over 30 years of experience to BigRentz with areas of expertise in Operations, Quality, Business Development, Strategy, Integrations, and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Belmont will be responsible for the alignment and prioritization of company investments and ensuring operational excellence across the company. Belmont comes to BigRentz from MNX Global Logistics where he and Cannon previously worked together.

“Tom is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers customer-centric results. With a laser-focus on operational excellence, he is uniquely qualified to drive strategic prioritization and accountability within BigRentz,” said Cannon. “I have tremendous confidence in Tom’s ability to align BigRentz’s innovative rental technology with industry-leading operational best practices.”

In addition to his focus on mergers and acquisitions, Belmont has significant experience expanding companies globally, all while sustaining their high growth and profitability. This experience will be invaluable to BigRentz strategic goals.

Belmont commented, “I am truly excited to join the BigRentz team and to reconnect with Scott. I am most impressed with the BigRentz team and culture as well as the superior technology offering we provide to the equipment rental industry.”

Belmont has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management/Legal from St. John’s University, New York.

Promoted to Chief Marketing Officer
BigRentz also announced that Jim Arabia has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer for continued strategic growth.

In this newly created position, Arabia will have enterprise responsibility for the company’s strategy, planning and implementation of BigRentz’s marketing and customer retention initiatives as the company scales operations. Arabia is a growth-focused leader with strong marketing experience who most recently served as the Vice President of Marketing.

“Jim has implemented end-to-end marketing strategies, engineered customer success strategies, and has a track record of driving new business,” said Cannon.

Despite COVID-19 and the associated obvious industry challenges to BigRentz, Arabia grew new customer segments by over 38 percent with customer acquisition costs hitting several all-time lows.

“He has the experience and expertise in branding and sales enablement that BigRentz and our customers continue to benefit from. The addition of Jim and Tom Belmont to the C-suite complement the talent and commitment of our team and they will be an intricate part to achieve our aggressive growth goals,” added Cannon.
