KS StateBank has been awarded a contract to serve as an authorized supplier for HGACBuy, a national procurement cooperative for local governments and nonprofits that deliver government services. The bank’s government and nonprofit lending division, Baystone Government Finance, secured the four-year contract and is working with HGACBuy members.
“Companies must go through a competitive process to become HGACBuy suppliers,” said Evan Howe, executive vice president of KS StateBank and director of Baystone Government Finance. “HGACBuy members that qualify will now have the option of funding the equipment, infrastructure and facilities they need through our tax-exempt lease-purchase financing agreements, also known as municipal leases.”
KS StateBank is an HGACBuy authorized supplier of lease-purchase financing under Contract LP07-25, listed here.
The bank’s Baystone Government Finance division has provided financing solutions to the public sector for more than 30 years. With one of the largest teams in the country dedicated to this specialty, the bank considers all types of essential equipment and real property for financing. Assets frequently financed include equipment, vehicles and technology for public works, police, fire, rescue, parks and recreation, water treatment plants, public schools and public hospitals. The bank also finances modular buildings, gymnasiums, offices and other public facilities. Visit baystone.net for more information.
HGACBuy — “Helping Governments Across the Country Buy” — is a nationwide cooperative purchasing program created by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), a political subdivision of the State of Texas. Contracts are established in accordance with Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252, and all products and services are awarded through a competitive bid (IFB) or competitive proposal (RFP) process. These are blanket-type contracts, typically with a four-year term. Participation in HGACBuy is entirely at the discretion of each member organization, which issues its own purchase orders and pays the awarded supplier directly. Membership is free and evergreen, meaning it never expires. Today, HGACBuy serves more than 10,000 local governments and nonprofit organizations that provide governmental services across the United States. Visit hgacbuy.org for more information.
