Lendscape Launches AI Assistant Access for Equipment Finance Providers

Lendscape announced the general availability of the Lendscape Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server for equipment finance. The launch marks a foundational step in the company’s strategy to enable the agentic transformation of the equipment finance operating model, moving finance providers from manual administration to AI-assisted execution under tight policy control.

The MCP Server connects a finance provider’s live Lendscape environment to compatible AI assistants, including those from Anthropic, OpenAI and Microsoft. Through a single secure interface, an assistant can read operational data, simulate proposed actions, and execute changes that have been validated against the finance provider’s business rules.

“Equipment finance lenders have been waiting for an AI story that isn’t just chat. Lendscape’s MCP Server gives them something concrete: the ability to put a capable assistant in front of their collections team, their servicing team or their customers, and trust that it will act safely within their own policies," said Steve Taplin, Chief Product Officer, Lendscape.

What MCP does for finance providers
AI tools can read documents and answer questions, but software solutions have traditionally lacked a secure, standardized way to enable them to safely access and act on live operational data. MCP provides that, establishing an open standard for AI assistants to query a business system and execute actions within configured rules.

Lendscape's MCP Server brings this to life for equipment finance providers, handling everything from analytical questions such as "Show me the asset classes most at risk this month and how they've been trending," through to operational instructions such as "Restructure this customer's payment schedule under our forbearance policy." The assistant reads live data and asks for any detail it needs. Crucially, it can't act without approval: any change is validated against the provider's rules before it's committed.

In practice, that means less manual work in collections, cash management and customer servicing, and more time spent on the cases that actually need a person's judgment.

"Lendscape is giving us real solutions to evolve with the changing landscape and deliver our business strategies, whilst keeping customers at the heart of what we do. That's exactly what we want from technology, and technology partners, that grow with us and allow us to lean into new opportunities, providing the tools that help us do even more," said Andy Trimmer, Director of Technology, Simply Asset Finance.

Designed for a regulated industry
Equipment finance is a regulated, audit-sensitive business. The Lendscape MCP Server is built around a clear separation between intelligence and execution: the assistant proposes the action, but it is the platform, not the AI, that validates and commits it against the provider's own policies. Every action is attributable and explainable, with a clear record of what was done and why. This “deterministic execution” is the key difference between Lendscape's approach and the AI-chat features being layered onto legacy systems elsewhere in the market.

The MCP Server is available now to Lendscape Equipment and Asset Finance customers worldwide.
