October 05, 2026, 07:11 AM

Gerber Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Brent Deur to Vice President of Lending.

"Brent's promotion is a reflection of his proven leadership, commitment to our members, and dedication to our community," said John P. Buckley Jr., President/CEO of Gerber Federal Credit Union. "Throughout his career, Brent has consistently demonstrated a member-focused approach while helping strengthen our lending operations, mentoring staff, and building strong relationships throughout the communities we serve. We are excited to have him take on this expanded leadership role."

Deur joined Gerber FCU as a Branch Manager and has advanced through positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President of Consumer Lending. Over his tenure, he has played an important role in supporting the credit union's growth while ensuring members continue to receive personalized service and local lending decisions.

As Vice President of Lending, Deur will oversee Gerber FCU's lending operations, including consumer, indirect and mortgage lending. His expanded responsibilities will help strengthen collaboration across lending functions and support the credit union's commitment to meeting the financial needs of its members.

In addition to leading lending operations, Deur remains dedicated to financial education and staff development. He regularly presents financial education programs throughout the community and has been instrumental in mentoring and developing future lending professionals. He also holds the designation of Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC).

Beyond his work at Gerber FCU, Deur serves on the Fremont City Council, participates on Newaygo County Community Development and Fremont Area Foundation committees, and serves on the Fremont Public Schools Education Advisory Board.
