Valerie Pagliaro, an executive with expertise in pricing analytics and financial planning in the equipment leasing industry, has been appointed to the post of director of The Alta Group consultancy. She most recently served as finance director for strategic pricing at GE Capital Americas.

“She brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to our management consulting team and will provide fresh insight to Alta’s other practices as well,” said Valerie Gerard, managing director and leader of Alta’s management consulting practice.

“I’ve long been impressed with Alta’s trusted position in our industry, so I’m delighted to now be working among such talented and respected consultants,” said Pagliaro.

Pagliaro spent 25 years at GE Capital and its subsidiaries, playing a leadership role in mergers and acquisitions, financial and pricing analytics and structuring and negotiating deals across the United States and Europe. Her breadth of experience positions her well to assist clients of The Alta Group in identifying cost-savings and revenue opportunities.

In her most recent role at GE Capital, Pagliaro directed the financial analysis and modeling for a more than $35 billion equipment leasing and inventory finance disposition, which was one of the largest individual transactions within GE’s wind-down of this division. She led a team responsible for real-time financial modeling that kept pace with fast-moving commercial developments throughout the negotiation and closing of the deal.

During her time at GE, Pagliaro held executive-level finance positions at a variety of business units in the United States and Europe, including the positions of CFO and manager of finance for mergers and acquisitions for GE Capital Vendor Financial Services. As an analyst at GE Capital Auto Financial Services in London, she worked on acquisitions across Europe.

Pagliaro holds an MBA from Pace University in White Plains, N.Y., and a bachelor of science in business administration-accounting from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
