December 04, 2018, 06:55 AM

MB Business Capital, the asset-based lending division of MB Financial Bank, N.A., announced that Michael D. Sharkey, President of MB Business Capital was awarded the prestigious Commercial Finance Association (CFA) Life Time Achievement Award.

The award recognizes his accomplishments spanning a 40-year career in financial services, where he has excelled in many leadership roles, including that of CFA Chairman. Thanks to his dedication, the organizations he has led have provided consistent support and commitment to the CFA, and under his leadership and guidance, MB Business Capital has thrived.

“I am extremely pleased to congratulate Mike on this recognition,” said Mark Hoppe, President and CEO of MB Financial Bank. “I have worked with Mike for over 25 years and I have an incredible amount of respect for him, not only for the successful asset-based lending business he has operated for many years but for how he has accomplished it. He hires strong, smart people and makes certain they receive training and mentoring in all facets of the business. He knows his people, he challenges them and he gives them the autonomy they deserve. This produces great employees which subsequently deliver great service to our clients. This ultimately results in employee and client loyalty which has been a hallmark of his distinguished career.”

“I’ve known Mike for my entire career and no one is more deserving of this award. During his successful career, he has proven to be both a true leader and great mentor to many colleagues. Our industry owes him a great deal of gratitude and respect.” said Dave Grende, President of CFA and President and CEO, Siena Lending Group.

MB Business Capital is the asset-based lending division of MB Financial Bank, a commercial bank with headquarters in Chicago.
