Medical Offices and Small Business to Spend Thousands on Tablets in 2012

DOTmed News reported many medical and dental offices plan to spend thousands of dollars buying tablet computers like the iPad next year, as the technology continues to shake up health care.

Of the small- and medium-sized medical and dental offices surveyed for the report, 76% said they intend to buy tablets over the next 12 months with an average spend of $6,800 on the technology, said the report.

The report also indicates that according to the survey and the DOTmed report, approximately  73% of companies with fewer than 1,000 employees plan to buy a tablet over the next year with an average spend of $21,000, according to the survey, which was carried out in September.

According to the report, the iPad is the tablet most often purchases by small to medium sized businesses.
