Wintrust Commercial Finance Promotes DeRusha, Horner

Wintrust Commercial Finance (WCF) announced the promotion of two Executive Vice President-level roles. Brian DeRusha has been promoted from SVP to EVP, Director of Asset Management, and Ron Horner has been elevated from SVP to EVP, General Counsel. In their new executive roles, both will be responsible for assisting in the growth of Wintrust Asset Finance’s over $3 billion portfolio.

DeRusha has been with Wintrust since May 2017. Prior to joining WCF, he spent 13 years at AIG Commercial Equipment Finance, and four years at Transamerica Commercial Finance, where he met current President & CEO of WCF, Kirk Phillips. DeRusha has extensive experience in equipment-based structured financing deals and acquisitions. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (formerly North Adams State College).

With over 36 years of broad-based commercial finance, corporate finance, and corporate experience, Horner has been an integral part of WCF since day one. Before joining WCF, Horner worked at AIG Commercial Equipment Finance with both Phillips and DeRusha. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University, his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law, and his Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center.
