TCF National Bank (TCF Bank), a subsidiary of TCF Financial Corporation announced it raised $175,000 during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to benefit Susan G. Komen®. TCF Bank customers donated funds at 179 branches in Illinois and Wisconsin to support Susan G. Komen’s efforts to save lives, ensure quality care and find a cure for breast cancer. Employee and customer donations will remain in the communities served by Susan G. Komen affiliates in Chicago, Peoria, Ill. and Wisconsin.

“We empower our team members to support nonprofit organizations they are passionate about, and for the past four years they’ve selected Susan G. Komen,” said Lou Campos, director of retail banking at TCF Bank. “This year we’re thankful that our employees and customers reached a new goal by donating $175,000, for a total of more than $625,000 in four years, to provide real-time help to women and men fighting breast cancer.”

“TCF Bank team members and customers tell us that they support Susan G. Komen because their mothers, aunts, sisters and friends have been affected by breast cancer,” said Susan Tybon, CEO at Susan G. Komen Chicago. “We are grateful to have TCF Bank and its customers as strong allies in our mission to end breast cancer through research, education and access to quality cancer care for all.”

TCF Bank is committed to building a better community. During the past four years, TCF Bank raised nearly $1.4 million in Illinois and Wisconsin for Susan G. Komen and March of Dimes. TCF Bank also supports high school education by offering free financial education courses in more than 200 high schools in Illinois and Wisconsin to help students make smarter financial decisions.
