Trailer net orders rose 26% month over month and 3.5% year over year according to the most recent State of the Industry: U.S. Trailers published by ACT Research Co. (ACT).

“Large fleets continue to drive the market, and low cancellations show that orders are firm,” said Frank Maly, Director–CV Transportation Analysis and Research at ACT.
“Trailer production was up 4% year over year. The industry continues to see a rebound in factory inventory after a strong year-end drawdown: inventory was up 13% m/m and 8% y/y. Comments regarding some pressure at the dealer level continue to be heard.” He added that normal seasonal patterns indicate some further inventory gains in March.

ACT is the worldwide leading publisher of new and used commercial vehicle (CV) industry data, market analysis and forecasting services for the North American market, as well as the U.S. tractor-trailer market and the China CV market. ACT’s CV services are used by all major North American truck and trailer manufacturers and their suppliers, as well as the banking and investment community in North America, Europe and China.
